Post 15 : The most important and the least important things you've learned in this class.

The most important thing to me I learned in this class was the importance of writing in MLA style. Learning how to communicate with my peers more efficiently. Expressing ourselves on our blog pages. A disadvantage I would say is being an online student has its challenges not being able to be around others. Losing social skills. And being able to have assistant right away

Post 14: explore the effects of class blogging

Overall class blogging has been experimental, both good and bad. The positive side we’ve learned from each other and we taught ourselves how to communicate through literature. So yes blogging has worked for me. It has given me a space where I can express myself freely without the judgement and pressure of others.

Post 11: how to use Bernoff's advice

Ask someone you trust. You are putting your work in the hands of another to judge. That requires trust. Describe what you want. Say “I am concerned about structure,” or “I think it is too long,” or “I was trying to be provocative, but I may have overdone it.” This allows your critic to concentrate on particular issues you are concerned about. Understand the difference between “this is flawed” and “you are flawed.” Once you have created the work, the work is not you, and you are not the work. You and the person giving the critique are working to make the work better, together. This is how you can accept criticism without feeling hurt. It’s not an easy habit to develop, but developing it is essential. Don’t accept emotional critiques. Critics shouldn’t be mean, but they sometimes are. Distill the useful feedback ...

knowledge of the complexities of the mind’s operations is constantly evolving as new tools become available to literally see inside the mind or indirectly assess its workings. Still, some principles of behavior are well-established: • The preeminent goal of any organism is to stay alive. To that end, the brain functions as a prediction machine, constantly scanning the environment for clues to what will come next, so an individual can exert some means of control and stay safe. • In its preference for certainty over uncertainty (which makes us feel uncomfortable and anxious), the mind seeks to detect patterns—and it’s sometimes too good at it, seeing them where they don’t exist. The blog that I chose does indeed fit the genre i'm aiming for. It helps catch a better understanding of what therapist do and how they do it.

Post 08: Civil & Courteous

In the world we live in today, our biggest problem United States has is that everyone wants to have control. Rather it's the government changing rights on women's bodies, Gun laws, criminal justice system, who lives matter or whose doesn't. Power has gotten to a certain group of peoples minds which will continue to be a big issue.
