Colorado State University's Writing Guide said:
"Analyze your audience BEFORE you start writing, so you'll know what format, style, vocabulary, or level of information is expected."
"Once they know who their audience is, they can mold their advertising--their words, format, graphics, images--to appeal to that specific audience."
Once I learned this I knew from then on how to address my professor's. For example, when I need to discuss a change with my grade or help with an assignment. I'll start off by gathering how im going to address them. Therefore they know what is expected from me. Further down the line we can discuss my concerns.
The quote "Analyze your audience BEFORE you start writing, so you'll know what format, style, vocabulary, or level of information is expected." Help with my future writing because if you don't know your audience, you do not understand the assignment.
