In MLA style, the one thing I have trouble with is in-text citation. Websites don't always correctly source their information. In these days, most websites use internet links instead of using actual citations. These internet links are not reliable. They may become broken and unusable. Sometimes, these websites have no author's name or pages numbers, so it will become impossible to find the correct citation. I've learned to stay away from those type of sites, and now I only browse dependable forums.
So many articles out there these days do not have authors listed! Which I know makes them unreliable sources. It also makes it hard for me to find good reliable sources to use. So, I feel where you are coming from here!
ReplyDeleteSomething difficult for me in a recent paper was this very thing! I was using a study from a reputable nonprofit organization, and they didn't list an author at all! I'm sure they had their reasons, and perhaps is was too collaborative to list the writers, but it required me to do even more research into how to correctly write the bibliography!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I am not the only one that feels that way. I agree. Hopefully, practicing will pay off in the future. I have been doing more research and getting help. Before I read the article first thing to check is the source Information.
